Gwyneth Paltrow Debuts Engagement Ring From Brad Falchuk
January 9, 2018
Gwyneth Paltrow and longtime love Brad Falchuck have finally confirmed their engagement. Yesterday, Good Morning America reported that the couple appeared together on the cover of the new “Sex & Love” issue of Goop magazine. Their relationship milestone is celebrated with a black-and-white cover photo of the couple looking fresh-faced, relaxed, and oh-so-in-love in white tees and jeans.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship,” the couple said in a joint statement to GMA.
In a separate photo, captured by photographer Steven Pan, Falchuk holds Paltrow close, kissing her cheek, and giving us a full-on view of her huge engagement ring. The massive circular gemstone looks to rest on a simple band, but it is unclear exactly what type of ring she’s rocking. If you scroll through the below Instagram you can see the photo.
In this second edition of Goop magazine, not only does the 45-year-old actress confirm her long-rumored engagement, but Paltrow also opens up about finding love again after she and ex-husband Chris Martin famously consciously uncoupled following ten years of marriage.
“Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy,” she writes. “For the first time, I feel like I’m in an adult relationship that is sometimes very uncomfortable—because he sort of demands a certain level of intimacy and communication that I haven’t been held to before. What came up in the first couple of years of our relationship was how incapable I was in this realm—how I feared intimacy and communication.”
Looking back on her highly publicized divorce, she states: “I’m actually the only one in my life who got divorced. This used to feel like a failure; it took me a while to reframe that divorce isn’t a failure.”
Paltrow and Falchuk’s relationship was for a while conducted under the radar, though the couple went public after they were spotted in April 2015 at Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday bash. Paltrow shares daughter Apple, 13, and son Moses, 11, with ex-husband Martin. Falchuk, 46, has two children, Brody and Isabella, from his 10-year marriage to Suzanne Bukinik.
