Thanks to the movie Gods above, you never have to let go of your love of Titanic. The world’s most beloved romance film starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio is celebrating its 20th anniversary by returning to theaters. Dolby Laboratories, Paramount Pictures, and AMC Theatres announced that starting on December 1, 87 AMC locations will begin showing the film for a week.
The Academy award-winning film, directed by James Cameron, is being reformatted to fit today’s big screen, HD quality, and 3D technologies (20 theaters will feature 3D screenings). “We mastered a few minutes of ‘Titanic’ in Dolby Vision and I was stunned,” Cameron said in a statement. “It was like seeing it for the first time. Now that the entire film has been mastered, I’m excited to share it with audiences across the US … This is beyond 3D, beyond 70mm, it’s beyond anything you’ve seen before.”
And while Winslet shut down romance rumors once and for all earlier this year, she told Glamour that her and DiCaprio still recite their lines to each other in everyday conversation. Swoon. We can’t wait to see their incomparable chemistry on the big screen again. Tickets to the re-release are limited and going fast, so get yours before they’re gone.
Never let go. For a limited time only relive the magic of #Titanic in stunning @Dolby Vison HDR exclusively at @AMCTheatres starting 12/1.
